London's awash with afternoon teas, and new ones are always being added to the selection — take a look at the menus which are new in London this month, including a chance to tuck into tea and cake inside the Natural History Museum.
The Art of Afternoon Tea at The Kensington
Artists such as Jackson Pollock, Yayoi Kasama and Alicja Kwade are the inspiration behind the new Art of Afternoon Tea menu at The Kensington hotel in South Ken. We're promised "a collection of carefully curated cultural confections and innovative libations" (which roughly translates as 'fancy food and drink').
Pollock's famed 'drip technique' adorns a dark chocolate mousse tart with passion fruit parfait. A mango mousse surrounding coconut yoghurt cream is designed to look like one of Kasama's playful polka dot pumpkins. And there's a special 'Girl with the Balloon' cocktail, inspired by Banksy's artwork of the same name.
Finger sandwiches, plain and fruit scones, and a selection of teas complete the menu.

Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula London

"English dishes inspired by Mr McGregor's Garden and the Lake District" form the base of the Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea menu at The Peninsula London. Adults' and children's version are available, with savoury bites, sandwiches, scones and sweet treats on the menu.
Stand-out dishes include a crab, celeriac and apple tart served with caviar, a roasted veal sandwich with tuna and capers, a strawberry and chamomile mousse, and scones served with a strawberry and mint jam — which sounds like something a certain Peter Rabbit would probably enjoy.
Peter Rabbit Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula. From £95 per adult/£55 per child. Available now, daily. See other themed afternoon teas available in London.

Sample items from the menu include coronation chicken sandwiches; a cherry tomato, red onion, superstraccia and pesto tart; Earl Grey scones served with Cornish clotted cream and Tiptree strawberry jam; a sweet pea and lemon cake; and a dinosaur footprint macaron.
