He's back — everyone's favourite ursine Peruvian (and honorary Londoner) Paddington Bear stars in his second live action feature film this autumn. The trailer for the rather unimaginatively named Paddington 2 has been released, and London looks spectacular in it.
The storyline for this installment revolves around an antique pop-up book about London, which Paddington discovers in an antiques shop on Portobello Road, and decides to buy for Aunt Lucy — if only he can save the money.
Cue japes up and down Chalcot Crescent, which once again stands in for the fictional Windsor Gardens, and an awkward altercation with Hugh Grant on stage at a funfair which we assume is based on Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park:
This looks suspiciously like the Camden Lock footbridge and willow tree (albeit it from an odd angle; we think they've filmed it from the canal path coming from Primrose Hill — the railings match— but somehow inverted the shot so that the bridge appears on the other side of Paddington):
And the rest of Regent's Canal makes an appearance:
And what we *think* is Little Venice:
Naturally, the eponymous station features:
Ben Whishaw once again voices Paddington, with Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins back as Mr and Mrs Brown, and Imelda Staunton voicing Aunt Lucy. Hugh Grant is a new addition to the cast as a vain local celebrity, and Julie Walters is back as Mrs Bird.
