Paddington Bear is getting a new large-scale interactive experience at County Hall later this year.

Lovers of the marmalade-munching ursinae will be invited to embark on a mission to help Paddington and the Browns prepare for 'a very special day', in a large-scale interactive experience on the South Bank, that promises to whisk visitors past iconic London landmarks, culminating in a 'trip' to Windsor Gardens.

The experience — directed by creative collective Immersive Octopus, a collective of creative who've worked on the likes of Peaky Blinders: The Rise and Doctor Who: Time Fracture — will involve live performance and video. There'll also be themed food and drink... so marmalade sandwiches and tea, then?

Other details are thin on the ground right now — and so far the opening date is only billed as '2023'. However, you can already sign up for ticket alerts.

In the meantime, go seek out Paddington at the London station that gave him his name.

2023 marks 65 years since author Michael Bond created Paddington Bear. Since its first publication, the Paddington books have sold over 35 million copies worldwide. There have also been two recent critically-acclaimed movies.
