There's An Enchanting Fairy House In South London, And You Can Go Inside

Someone's been sprinkling the fairy dust a bit too hard in south London — there's a human-sized fairy house tucked away on a residential street.

The Fairy House opened in 2017, offering fans of all things fairy somewhere to indulge in a spot of whimsy. It's predominantly used as a venue for children's parties for which it can be hired out privately. It's a sure step up from the soft play barn where we had our eighth birthday.

Friendly Giants (adults) are invited up to the fairy tearooms upstairs to wait, while budding fairies are shown around. The birthday child can pick an adventure, ranging from pirates to unicorns to rainbows, and the party takes on that theme, with craft activities, stories and a birthday picnic, all helping the partygoers in their fairy training.

If your little one's birthday is just too far away for them to wait, The Fairy House also offers experiences at weekends and school holidays. Book your slot in advance to visit as part of a larger group and spend a day at Fairy School, learning about mixing potions, riding unicorns, singing with elves and splashing with mermaids.

The fairy tearoom and shop are open to the general public too, but they do close occasionally for private bookings, so call ahead to check opening hours before you make a special journey.
