This 'Paloma Window' In Covent Garden Is Handing Out Free Tequila Cocktails
A Paloma cocktail and the Paloma window
A window serving free booze pops up in Covent Garden.

If the press releases in our inbox are anything to go by, the Paloma is the cocktail of the moment — and this week, there's a chance to get your chops around one gratis.

The Patrón Paloma Ventana pop-up graces Covent Garden from Wednesday 17- Friday 19 July, dishing up free Palomas (that's tequila, lime juice and grapefruit soda) alongside (also free) Mexican small plates — aka 'botana', from 5pm-7pm on each of the three evenings.

The drinks and food pairings (crafted by Michelin-Starred chef Tom Sellers and including pork, prawn & pineapple skewer with sticky chipotle glaze; jackfruit barbacoa taco, and mango fro-yo topped with lime & chilli syrup & popping candy) will be passed through a 'Paloma window' — a take on the 'buchette del vino' wine windows of Italy — when you greet the person on the other side with a "¡Salud!". (If you look young, take ID.)

Michelin-Starred chef Tom Sellers has prepared delicious Mexican small plates to go with the Palomas.

And that's not the only free cocktail you can get your lips on; you'll also be handed a token, redeemable on a Patrón Paloma until National Tequila Day (24 July) at bars including Satan's Whiskers (Bethnal Green), Aqua Nueva (Oxford Circus), Side Hustle at NoMad (Covent Garden) and Cafe Pacifico (Covent Garden).

We imagine the queues for this pop-up could get long, but if you're worried the booze will run out before you make it to the window, just have a little Paloma faith.
