The first batch of tickets for London's New Year's Eve fireworks will go on sale on 18 October.
Since, 2014, the festive spectacular of fireworks, music and latterly drone displays — which plays out from the South Bank — has been a ticketed event. This year, there's been another change to the pricing, with tickets costing up to £50 per person. That's a steep mark-up from last year, when all tickets cost £20. The price hike, says the Mayor of London's Office, is to "enhance security and crowd management around the event, and cover increasing costs seen across the industry."
But there's good news for Londoners. They'll get £15 off tickets, meaning it's possible to see the event at last year's price. Here's the pricing structure:
The first batch of tickets goes on sale 12pm on Friday 18 October, and is sold via Ticketmaster. Each person can buy a maximum of four tickets.
A second batch of tickets is expected to go on sale late November/early December. In all, 100,000 people will attend the event.
No ticket? The fireworks — which last 12 minutes — will also be televised live on BBC One.
