Four Fantastic Venues In London For Top Notch Festive Feasting

After this year, we could all do with a treat. And while big festive blow-outs might be off the menu this year, you can still celebrate Christmas in London the best way we know how: with incredible food — and lots of it.

From traditional roasts with all the trimmings, to sushi with a yuletide twist, here are four venues serving up unforgettable seasonal fare and merriment aplenty.

South African flavours in a spectacular setting at Shaka Zulu

If you want to really dazzle your dining companions, the intricate wood carvings, tiger print upholstery, and giant Zulu statues that decorate Shaka Zulu should do the trick. This spectacular venue is located in the heart of Camden market and offers a festive set menu with a South African twist.

There's plenty of entertainment on offer — ranging from aerial acts, to fire dancers, to snake charmers — and cocktails aren't too shabby, either (we'll have the Safari Martini, if you're buying). If you're into daredevil performances and drinks that pack a punch, be sure to check out the venue's special New Year's Eve packages, too.

Christmas with a Cuban twist at Gabeto

Just next door to Shaka Zulu you'll find a vibrant brasserie that's all about Latin flavour — with salsa acts, samba dancers and drummers to you as you eat. Gabeto's Cuban roots are also reflected in its Christmas menu — think cod tacos, mojo roasted turkey, and chilli-chocolate brownie.

Looking for somewhere to ring in 2021? Gabeto is throwing a proper fiesta, featuring live music and free-flowing cocktails. Salud!

Sushi gets a festive revamp at Kurobuta

Sushi doesn't necessarily scream 'festive fare', but Kurobuta knows how to do Christmas right. Located a stone's throw from Hyde Park, this Japanese restaurant has given its menu of super-fresh sushi a festive revamp, with treats including soft-shell crab tempura maki with kimchee mayo and BBQ pork belly in steamed buns. Oh, and if you fancy saying sayonara to 2020 here, Kurobuta offers both early and late sittings for its NYE feast.

First-class feasting in opulent members' club Blacks.

Looking for somewhere a bit more traditional? It's got to be Blacks. This members' club is one of Soho's best-kept secrets, having just recently opened its doors to the public for weekend brunches and Sunday roasts. Both the roast and the special Christmas menu boast premium meats with all the trimmings served in opulent surroundings amid the glow of a roaring fire.

Head there after your Christmas shopping for a well-deserved treat. The restaurant is also open on New Year's Eve — the perfect place to start your celebrations in style.  Best get your skates on, though, because numbers are limited.
