While a few more Londoners might be tempted to the freshly-pedestrianised Oxford Street for this year's Christmas shopping, over on Columbia Road, the shops remain infinitely more independent and individual — and the Hackney street has now announced its 2026 season of late-night festive shopping.
As has become tradition, Columbia Road's shopkeepers will keep their doors open late on Wednesday evenings in the run-up to Christmas, offering Londoners the chance of an after-work spree with the stress of seasonal shopping substantially numbed by mulled wine being ladled out at the side of the road.
Many of the street's 60 independent shops will be open until 9pm, selling homeware, pottery, vinyl, beauty products, handcrafted jewellery and more. And not a Disney Store in sight.
This being Columbia Road, you might also want to stock up on seasonal foliage and — if you don't live too far — maybe even buy your Christmas tree.
Shops will be open/mulled wine flowing from 5pm-9pm on the following dates:
🎁 25 November
🎁 2 December
🎁 9 December
🎁 16 December
