Skyline Views And A Tunnel Slide: Now That's What We Call A Christmas Gift

This is a sponsored article on behalf of ArcelorMittal Orbit.

Sick of socks, tired of t-shirts and so over soap? Give someone a gift they actually want this Christmas — a chance to see the London skyline from a whole new angle.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park offers gift vouchers for two of its experiences, Skyline Views and The Slide, ideal for both casual sightseers and the more daring members of the family.

The UK's tallest sculpture

A Skyline Views gift voucher grants entry to both an indoor and outdoor observation platform at the top of the UK's tallest sculpture. It's 80m up in the sky. You can see much of London from here. Happily, touch screen information panels will help you identify the capital's landmarks.

And don't forget to look inwards, too. The tower includes a set of concave mirrors installed by Anish Kapoor, the sculptor who designed the whole structure. Selfies are essential.

Once you've had your fill of views, head back down to earth via the 455 stairs. A sound installation will follow you around. Chanting football crowds and East End market traders' sales patter are among the familiar sounds which celebrate London in all its glory.

Wheeeeeee!

Looking for something a little more adventurous, perhaps for the teenagers in the family? The Slide gift voucher includes access to the same viewing platforms, but instead of descending down the stairs, your exit route is via The Slide.

Just to be clear: this is the world's longest and tallest tunnel slide! It's a whopper.

The 178m, 40-second descent has 12 twists and turns, with speeds of up to 15mph. It's an experience they'll be talking about well into 2022.

Why a gift voucher?

The lucky recipient of a gift voucher can book their experience at a time and date that suits them, within 12 months from the date of purchase. You can buy vouchers for individuals, or for a family of up to four. Hey presto, you can tick several people off your Christmas shopping list in one go.

E-vouchers are emailed directly to the recipient within two hours of purchase — ideal if you've left the Christmas shopping a bit too late this year, can't face traipsing around the shops, or accidentally forget about someone until the last minute (we've all done it).

Physical gift cards are also available, if you're looking for something to put under the tree. Plus, you never know — chuck a box of chocolate or a bottle of bubbly in with the voucher, and the lucky recipient might take you with them.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is for life, not just for Christmas, so why not see it for yourself?  The viewing platforms and Slide are open every day over the Christmas period, except 25 and 26 December. It's perfect for a festive family day out, as we slide towards the New Year.

Head to the ArcelorMittal Orbit website to purchase gift vouchers, or to book The Slide or Skyline Views experiences.
