Headed to Wembley Stadium or the SSE Arena anytime soon? We can't promise that your footie team will win, or predict whether that band you've been waiting months to see will play your favourite song, but we can make sure you're well fed on the big day. Or, rather, Boxpark's biggest site to date can.
North west London's newest street food destination is home to 20 eclectic street vendors, as well as three bars, in case you're in need of a stiff drink to calm those pre-match nerves — mojito slushies, anyone? And it just happens to be located three minutes' walk from Wembley Park station, three minutes from the stadium, and five minutes from the SSE arena. No need to dig out those hiking boots, then.
Here's a taste of what you can expect:
When it comes to Caribbean food, Mama Jacq's doesn't jerk around. A family venture, the menu is inspired by the home cooking Jacqueline Codougan enjoyed during her childhood in St. Vincent. Think award-winning curry goat, fish tacos and mouth-wateringly good jerk chicken.
Got a sweet tooth? You need to get yourself down to Longboys for a scrumptious, cylindrical gourmet doughnut. We're partial to the sticky toffee caramel pecan.
Alternatively, if the weather's hot, cool off with a cone from Udderlicious — all their ice cream is handmade in-store, and there are vegan options available.
Sometimes, all you want is a good burger. And no one does one quite like Nanny Bills. Do yourself a favour and get the Dalston Dip: slathered with cheese, glazed with mustard and then drenched in a rich, dark gravy, it shouldn't work but, oh, it most definitely does.
As well as all that fabulous street food, Boxpark Wembley also boasts a couple of proper sit-down restaurants for when you've got a bit of time to kill.
Tapa Vino does pretty much what it says on the tin — superb Spanish sharing plates and an excellent selection of wine — while Koolcha is the brainchild of Michelin starred Chef Rohit Ghai and Abhishake Sangwan (of Gymkhana, Hoppers, Bombay Bustle and Jamavar fame), which serves up a vibrant array of traditional North Indian stuffed flatbreads, alongside tasty chutneys and black dal.
Feeling hungry yet? You can browse all of Boxpark Wembley's vendors here. Open 11am-11pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am-10pm on Sundays.
