Living in a city as huge and bustling as London can feel isolating at times.
That's why Kindred — a co-working, events, and dining venue in Hammersmith — hosts a communal dinner one Monday every month, bringing Londoners together around the table.
The get togethers are free to attend, providing a sharing meal, a free drink and the chance to get to know your fellow diners better with optional games. (If you prefer to just chat, that's fine too.) Though there's no obligation to pay a penny, diners can make a donation to Kindred's partner charity, the Nourish Hub, if they wish.
Says Kindred founder Anna Anderson: "My dream when Kindred was in its infancy was to use the simple act of eating together to spark connection and bring people together. That's why we've launched our free community dinners; wanting to do something that removes all the usual financial barriers to connection, and focuses simply on getting to know others in the community over a delicious shared meal."
The next dinner takes place on Monday 4 December 2023, with a menu featuring lamb tagine, miso and mango glazed aubergine, mouhalabieh (a type of Middle Eastern milk pudding) and basbousa, a semolina cake.
Kindred's Community Dinner, Kindred, Hammersmith once a month, 7pm-9pm.
