New Interactive Map Weaves Together Old And Modern London Photos

We've seen plenty of images of old and modern London side by side, but few blend the two time periods as seamlessly as these shots.

Whitehall 1910 and present day

Photos of London from around the start of the 20th century have been laid over modern day Google street view images of the same spot.

Westminster Abbey 1911 and present day

In some cases, the same buildings are still standing, lining up the two photos exactly.

Oxford Street 1961 and present day

The images have been put together by travel company Expedia, which has also put together an interactive map of the 13 London locations.

Oxford Circus 1904 and present day

The map shows "just how many glimpses of untouched, historic beauty are still visible today".

Houses of Parliament, date unknown and present day

You can play with Expedia's Historic London map here.

Harrods 1940 and present day
Fleet Street 1890 and present day
Clapham Common 1915 and present day
Cheapside/ Poultry, 1909 and present day
Buckingham Palace 1908 and present day
