Tonight's commute looks to be a stressful one for rail travellers, with at least three separate incidents causing delays into and out of London.
Southern Rail users and those using the London Overground between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon are affected by a sinkhole which opened up under the railway line at Forest Hill. No Overground trains are running on the line, and Southern services are subject to all sorts of changes — major disruption is expected between London Bridge and East Croydon for the rest of the day.
Elsewhere, no trains were running into or out of King's Cross due to a fire alarm at a signal box. As of 5.15pm, things seem to be on the move again, but expect residual delays and cancellations throughout the evening
#KingsCross Lines are now open. Residual delays may occur as services recover. Please see @nationalrailenq for service information.

Further south, delays between Waterloo and Wimbledon on South West Trains are expected until 7pm tonight, due to a broken down trains between Waterloo and Clapham Junction.
So good luck getting home tonight — at the very least, cross your fingers that your train has air con.
