CITY ARCHITECTURE:

City of London Guide Alexandra Epps holds a free talk about the architecture of the City of London, focusing on joint works between sculptors and architects. Takes place at Barbican Library. Free, just turn up, 12.30pm

UNTOLD STORIES:

60 Untold Stories is a photography exhibition at Goldsmiths University in New Cross. Through photos, it tells the stories of the "first black middle-class" — the first children of Caribbean origin to successfully pass through the British education system into the professions. Part of Black History Month. Free, just turn up, 1-30 October

GLASS DELUSIONS:

Opening today is Grant Museum of Zoology's new exhibition, Glass Delusions. Work by artist Eleanor Morgan will be on display, inspired by the Grant Museum's collection of intricate glass sponges — animals that naturally build themselves out of glass — they are formed of 90% silica.  Free, just turn up, until 19 December

SHORTS ON TAP:

Juno in Shoreditch hosts a free networking event for film makers and film lovers. The Shorts On Tap event is a chance to discuss current projects and all things film related. Free, RSVP, from 7pm

WORLD CHOCOLATE DAY:

World Cocoa and Chocolate Day is being celebrated at The Chocolate Museum in Brixton. There's a talk by Divine Chocolate, and free chocolate tastings. Free, prebook, 7pm-9pm

Head to the Rugby World Cup Fanzone in Richmond to see comedians Scotland’s Danny Bhoy, Ireland’s Ardal O'Hanlon, Wales's Lloyd Langford and England’s Zoe Lyons battle it out for title of Home Nations Champion. £20, 8pm

Good cause of the day

Tonight, Coram children's charity hosts a fundraising screening of 1981 cult film Gregory's Girl, followed by a live Q&A with actress and star of the film Clare Grogan. It takes place at the Warner Bros. Screening Room, with a minimum donation of £70 to attend. More information here.
