Are you still looking for that piece of art to complete your living room or bedroom, or have you bought a few works already and are now looking for something different? If so, then The Other Art Fair should be on your list to see. It's held twice a year in London, it's packed full of emerging artists and is always in a great location.
This year the April edition has moved to a new home of Victoria House in Bloomsbury, a venue that has a track record of hosting great art exhibitions. Here's a few reasons why it's worth visiting The Other Art Fair:
Artists on hand
The artists will be there selling their own work, there's no middleman and you can find out anything you want to know about how the artwork was made as you decide whether it's for you. Since you'll be directly negotiating with the artist and they're not represented by a gallery, you can see work you wouldn't find anywhere else and negotiate a great price.
High quality art
Even though these artists may not be represented by galleries, many have been at previous editions of the fair so have a proven track record of performing well at the fair. 700 artists applied for this edition and they have been whittled down to 130 by a high quality judging panel consisting of YBA Gavin Turk and experts from The Courtauld Institute and auction house Sotheby's.
It's not just for buyers
If you're not in the mood to make a purchase, there's a great programme to go alongside the stands including performances, talks, workshops for children, an immersive theatre experience, with food and drink available.
The Other Art Fair is growing in popularity with each iteration because it delivers diverse and high quality art that's both accessible and affordable.
