Party With A View At The Orbit

Partying heads east to The Orbit on Friday nights.

The majority of London's main attractions have hosted late night events at one point or another, so it was only a matter of time before the new kid on the block joined in, putting its own stamp on the concept.

The Orbit in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park hosts a series of Friday Night parties this summer, and in true east London style, the focus is very much on the music. The events begin tomorrow, with Space in this Place. We're promised "space themed sounds" on both observation decks, which seems fitting for the futuristic structure. New musicians Solaris, Sun Ra, Transept and the aptly named Astronaut will all be taking to the sound system.

Next Friday is a quieter affair, with a silent disco taking place throughout the evening. Create your own soundtrack for the sunset as you flick between channels on your headset and, in a 21st century spin on the silent disco, text song requests to the DJ (who, we expect, won't be more than a few metres away, but when out east...).

The final event takes place at the start of the Bank Holiday weekend. The not-for-profit East London Radio will be providing the soundtrack, bristling with soul, disco, hip hop, grime, jungle, and possibly even some classical.

Food and drink will be available for an extra cost throughout all three events.

Orbit Lates take place 8/15/22 August from 7pm. Tickets are £20/£17.50 and need to be prebooked.
