On Friday 22 August, the prestigious London arts institute hosts a Latin Takeover connected to its current exhibition Radical Geometry, which showcases innovative 20th century South American art from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros collection.

Visitors can take an artistic journey to South America through Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. Explore the artistic environment of these Latin countries during the 20th century, see how the artists reacted to socio-political situations within their nations, and compare this to the contemporary art tendencies of Europe and North America.
Many of the artworks on show have never been displayed in the UK before so this is a real treat. And if you don't feel sufficiently sated after browsing the exhibition, the bar has a whole Latin America-inspired menu to choose from.
Latin Takeover at the RA takes place on Friday 22 August from 6.30-10pm at the Royal Academy, Burlington House, Piccadilly W1J 0BD. Tickets are £14.50, including a mojito cocktail, live music and entrance to the exhibition.
