ODD PHOTOS: Stranger Than Fiction exhibition at the Science Museum shows Joan Fontcuberta's photographs. They mix fact with fiction and science with art. £8/£5, prebook, until 9 November  

WOMEN TENNIS: Women's Wednesdays is presented by Lee Valley Tennis Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a set of weekly tennis sessions exclusively for women and girls. The initiative starts today with an adult session (10am-12pm), two introductory sessions for girls (5-6pm for ages 10-13, and 6-7pm for ages 14-18) and even cardio tennis (7-8pm for over 16s). £4, prebook by email, the event repeats every Wednesday until early September

BREW ON THE ROOF: Camden Town Brewery pops up on Selfridges’s rooftop for a whole day of beer brewing and tasting, as part of Meet The Makers campaign. Free, just turn up, 1pm-8pm

MIND JUNGLES: Writer and psychoanalyst Susie Orbach is at ZSL London Zoo to continue the series of writer’s talk events, in which writers team up with zoo-keepers to discuss animals. Tonight’s event takes place in the zoo’s Tiger Territory exhibit, and the theme is 'jungles of the mind'. £12, prebook, 6.30pm

EAT A LAMB'S TONGUE: Head to 409 restaurant in Clapham Road for an evening of pop-up cuisine with Blanch & Shock Food Design, formed of chefs Mike Knowlden and Josh Pollen. The menu includes crab, octopus, lamb tongue and much more. £40, prebook by email, 7pm

SOVIET FASHION: Connected to its current exhibition Work and Play Behind the Iron Curtain, GRAD hosts a talk about Soviet Fashion from 1950s until 1970s. The talk is lead by fashion historian Amber Jane Butchart and includes a QA session. £7/£5+bf (including a drink), prebook, 7pm

BRIGHT CLUB: Six UCL researchers take the stage at the Star of Kings is King's Cross and become comedians for a night. Supported by two professional comedians, tonight's theme is 'heat'. £5+bf, prebook, 7.30pm

Good Cause of the Day

On Saturday 2 August join a charity guided walk picking up on the recent International Women’s Day theme, which was was inspiring change. Listen to stories of brave women who lived in London in the past as well as contemporary female role models.
