BLOOD: Today’s opportunities to donate blood are at Asda in Old Kent Road, Highgate Road Chapel in Gospel Oak, Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton, London Marriott Hotel in Canary Wharf and Hornsey Parish Church in Muswell Hill. See site for terms and conditions

ART: The National Theatre launches the exhibition Both Sides Now: Moments in American Music, which celebrates the 1960s singer-songwriters living in Laurel Canyon-LA and the new wave bands in downtown 1970's New York, trying to capture the changing spirit of that time. Free, until 14 June

MORE ART: Barbara Stanley Gallery hosts the exhibition I believe I can touch the sky featuring colourful artworks by Graffiti artist CEET. Free, until 13 April

EASTER ADVENTURES: Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath welcomes Easter with a rich programme of family activities. Mingle with Kenwood’s most famous residents and discover the history of the place. The initiative runs until Saturday 19 April. Free, just turn up, everyday 12-4pm

FILM FESTIVAL: Let's All Be Free Cinema Festival is a three-day-long cinema event that explores the nature of freedom. The festival takes place in two main venues: Whirled Cinema in Loughborough Junction and The Ritzy in Brixton and lasts until 10 April. Today's choice is the opening event at the Whirled Cinema, with a screening and panel of discussion. £5+bf, prebook, 7pm  

ART TALK: Ben Uri Gallery in St John's Wood hosts a talk about the Life and Art of Roman Halter, the artist and Holocaust survivor, connected to the gallery's current exhibition. £10, prebook by email, 7.30pm

GREENWICH: Five speakers come to The Greenwich Tavern for The Greenwich Series: hear Tom from Tired of London, Cairis from the Wiggly Wild Show, Robert the London Cabbie, the Park Your Self project and statistician Clare Griffiths on mortality rates. Free, just turn up, 8pm

FILM NIGHT: A reality-based film about a 13-year-old who joins Baltimore’s notorious urban dirt-bike gang: the 12' O Clock Boys is on screen tonight at the Omnibus in Clapham. £5/£4, prebook, 7.30pm

CLASSICAL MUSIC: Barts Choir, London's largest amateur choir, performs JS Bach's St John Passion at Cadogan Hall. £25/£19.50, prebook, 7.30pm

DAVID BOWIE: Ziggy Stardust lovers and aspiring painters shouldn't miss this pop-up painting class, where you'll be taught how to reproduce the famous David Bowie portrait above. The event takes place at The Railway Tavern in Clapham, tickets include art materials. £25, prebook, 7.30pm

Good Cause of the Day

Book tickets in advance for an evening of comedy and laughter on Wednesday 9 April at the Bloomsbury Theatre. The charity event supports the Stand Up On Everest fundraising campaign: a bunch of comedians are taking part in a trekking and climbing experience on the mountain this October, followed by their fans, for charity. The money raised will aid Save The Children. £15, prebook, 7.30pm

London Connection Puzzle
