Pint Of Science Brings Research To The Pub

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 07.31.46What are you doing on 19-21 May? If you have any of these evenings free, then block them out in your calendar now, for Pint of Science returns to London.

The format's straight-forward: spend an evening in the pub and learn some science. You've got 58 different events to choose from on every topic under the sun, and one or two that go way beyond said orb. Learn how ocean bubbles affect the planet; how viruses can be used to treat cancer; the nature of dark matter; and, pertinently for the pub, why we should all love our livers.

Talks cost just £2.20 and take place in over a dozen pubs around town. You can either browse by category (mind, body, physics, Earth) on the website, or just look at the full list of events here. The brain-booze festival has grown somewhat over the past year, and will also take place simultaneously in the USA, France, Australia, Ireland and Switzerland, as well as other cities in the UK.

It must be true because we heard it from that epigeneticist down the pub.
