Tom Du Croz from LondonGigGuide selects his recommended small and medium-sized gigs around town this week.

Monday 10 March

Cousin Marnie, Sebright Arms, Hoxton

Lovely track! Her blog tells me that she likes Cameron Diaz, her favourite place in London is King's Cross and her karaoke song of choice will always be Stand by your Man by Tammy Wynette — awesome! Event Details

Tom Bem, The Alley Cat, Tottenham Court Road

This guys is from Belgium and produces all his own tracks. He also released an EP last year called Pass It On. The night is organised by a Belgian radio station called Zen FM. Event Details

The Lone Bellow, The Borderline, Soho

They are back! This phenomenal three piece from Nashville got together by accident after a casual jamming session made them all realise that together they had something special. They have had a few releases back home but this is the first time they've released in the UK, an EP called The One You Should’ve Let Go. Event Details

Wednesday 12 March

Mad Dog McCrea, Half Moon Putney

These guys are a Gypsy Swing band from Plymouth. They mix upbeat tracks like this with more traditional, slower folk music. They played at Glastonbury three times last year and I am sure they will be back again this year. Event Details

Thursday 13 March

Winspear & William, The Hideaway, Kentish Town

Two former members of the Standards have  formed a new band called Winspear & William. This gig is to celebrate their first single release, which is about the troubles guys have with facial hair. Event Details

Leo Wyatt, The Gallery Cafe, Bethnal Green

This guy is only 21 and he studied 'Popular Music' at Leeds before moving to London. He is giving away his latest EP from his bandcamp page. Event Details

From Whitley Bay near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, this four-piece have amassed a huge online following. This track Bluelove is their latest single and is already their biggest. Their debut EP is due to follow shortly. Event Details

Sunday 16 March

Three Minute Tease, 12 Bar Club, Tottenham Court Road

It would be easy to make the mistake in thinking that all exciting new music was being made by kids in their twenties just out of college.  Most of the bands we recommend are — but that doesn't mean they need to be. Led by Anton Barbeau, Three Minute Tease is bucks that trend. Event Details
