Santa's Lap: London Historians Membership

Every day until Christmas we will be pointing you in the direction of a London-inspired Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won’t already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we’ll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings…

Regular readers will know that we have a bit of a thing for the city's history. We even have it up there in big, capital letters, in the menu bar...look, there, under 'Features'. So today we'd like to point you in the direction of an organisation with whom we've sank many beers and deep thoughts about our city's past: London Historians.

We've been members since day one. In that time, we've infiltrated the tunnels beneath the Old Bailey, heard top-notch historians discuss their research, drank champagne in a Fitzroy Square townhouse and taken a tour behind the scenes of Wandsworth Prison. Best of all, the monthly drinks meetup is the sort of easy, informal get-together where you end up talking to everyone, about everything. You'll also get discounts to talks, tours and workshops, a monthly newsletter with exclusive writing on London's history, and a smart little membership card as pictured above.

London Historians is open to anyone with a passion for the city's history, or even those who are fairly new to London and want to learn more about its past. Sign up before Christmas, and Londonist readers can get a £10 discount on membership: £29 for an individual, or £39 for joint membership.
