The UK Picture Editors' Guild Awards recently opened at Museum of London. The awards are split into 11 categories including News, Sports, Fashion and Entertainment, and Citizen Photographer of the Year.

There are some crackers here: a besuited Prince Charles clambering across a climbing wall; a besuited Prince Charles sharing a tube seat with Camilla; the Queen gurning at the camera; the Queen gurning at a car. Actually, half the shots seem to involve one Royal or another gurning at something. Alongside the superior photographs of celebrities and big events, you'll also find a number of more harrowing images showing war zones and areas of suffering around the world.

The UK Picture Editors' Guild Awards is free to visit and, as it lines the curvy wall in front of the museum, is effectively accessible 24 hours a day. It runs until 16 March 2014.
