BLOOD: Today’s opportunities to donate blood are at the Sainsbury's on Dog Kennel Hill and the Church of Jesus Christ LDS in Walworth. Free, see site for terms and conditions

ART: Paul Klee brings his witty and inventive paintings to the Tate Modern in a new major exhibition. £16.50/£14.50, just turn up, until 9 March 2014

PHOTOGRAPHY: Paris at Dawn London at Dawn is a new exhibition in St Pancras International showing early morning photography in the two cities. The exhibition, outside Foyles, supports two books, recently published, showing the same. Free, just turn up, until 30 October

WALL ART: Shanghai-based artist Zhang Enli transforms the Institute of Contemporary Arts Theatre with a painting that covers the entire floor and walls. Free, just turn up, until 22 December

WATER ART: Photographer Edward Burtynsky takes on the theme of water in a spectacular-looking exhibition at Flowers Gallery. Free, just turn up, until 12 November

DAVID WEIR: Meet the British wheelchair athlete who won no less than six gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Paralympic Games, at Waterstones Canary Wharf. Free, just turn up (early arrival recommended), 12.30pm

PARLIAMENT: Attend an open lecture in the Houses of Parliament where Dr Caroline Shenton, author of The Day Parliament Burned Down, tells the story of the day in 1834 when a great blaze ripped through the House of Parliament. Free, prebook, 2.30-4pm

JAZZ: Kavuma/Fox quintet features some of the UK’s finest young, jazz talent (all successful and busy musicians on the circuit). They are playing bop, jazz and some original material at Foyles on Charing Cross Road. Free, just turn up, 6-7pm

Good Cause of the Day

Brain & Spine Foundation is a charity committed to providing information and support to people living with neurological conditions across the UK. They put on a variety of fundraising events across the UK year-round and at the moment, Londoners can sign up to run for them in the 2014 London Marathon. With professional physio support, competitions and parties there are plenty of good reasons to get involved.
