V&A: A new site-specific installation opens at the V&A: Tomorrow creates an apartment belonging to a fictional, elderly and disillusioned architect in the Textiles Gallery for a a cheeky take on the museum's 'do not touch' policy. Free, just turn up, 10am-5.45pm

CELLO: Have a musical lunch break with a cello recital from Rebecca Herman at St Martin-in-the-Fields. Free, just turn up, 1pm

READING: What is reading? Professor Belinda Jack looks at the neuroscience and if the brain responds differently to 'good' and 'bad' writing, at Gresham College. Free, just turn up, 6pm

LONDON FILM: At Barbican Cinemas tonight, a double bill of unusual London films exploring a sewer, looking at cults, imagining a faceless city and shorts shot around Hackney, a south London tower block and the deserted east end. Tickets £10.50/session online, book, 6.15pm and 8pm

SHRINKING: The Grant Museum screens 1957 movie The Incredible Shrinking Man with an introduction from Historian of Biology Professor Joe Cain. Free, just turn up, 6.30pm
