London Comedy: Gina Yashere, Greekonomics, Cariad Lloyd

Gina Yashere, in Highgate and Deptford.

Our selection of London’s alternative, clever and offbeat comedy gigs this week.

Comedy Knights

Vegan, metaller, surreal, transvestite, frighteningly clever – all could easily be applied to Andrew O'Neill, but none of these words and phrases truly cover how damn funny he is. Find out at Comedy Knights in Ealing, plus you get Ben Clover, Ian Lane, Tom Holmes, Darren Walsh and Adam Race. 13 October, £5, 8pm.

Greekonomics

Confused about the Greek economic crisis? Not sure what's happening with the Euro? Manos Kanellos can help if you go along to the Leicester Square Theatre on 16 October, £7, 9pm.

Gina Yashere

Gina Yashere's been in Los Angeles for a while, but catch her at Jackson's Lane for two nights 16-17 October, £13 / £11, 8pm and the Albany in Deptford on 26 October, £12-£16, 8pm for a stand up show from a comic who, were she white and male, would be packing out the Hammersmith Apollo.

Cariad and Paul

Cariad Lloyd and Paul Foxcroft take one word from the audience and improvise an entire show. After a sold out run in Edinburgh, see them at the Pleasance in Islington on 18 October, £7, 9pm.

Austentatious

There's more improv containing Cariad Lloyd in Austentatious at the Leicester Square Theatre, along with Rachel Parris, Joseph Morpurgo and others. They'll make up a 'lost' Jane Austen novel on the spot – we think it's a work of genius. 20 October, £12.50 / £10, 7pm.
