A new monthly get-together for people who like their nights out to be a bit more thinky comes to Shoreditch on 29 May. Nerd Nite offers three 20-minute talks (listed as 18-21 minutes...like they've put confidence intervals on running time...that's how nerdy this show is...they can't spell 'night', though). Prof Kevin D Jones chats about all the nasty, criminal things that you might encounter on the Internet. Dianna Nammi, a veteran of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, speaks about the nature of revolutions, and how they are won or lost. Then there's Bryony Frost, who reveals the secrets of the Universe using LEGO.
Nerd Night runs at Paper Dress Vintage, 29 May, 114-116 Curtain Rd, London, EC2A 3AH, from 8pm. Tickets are £6. Facebook. Twitter: @NerdNiteLondon
