Monday 8 April

WONDER: Get brainy at Barbican's Wonder Street Fair with drop in activities, performances and demonstrations, all free. You can even knit a neurone! Free, just turn up, until 9 April

SCIENCE AND RELIGION: A talk at Gresham College on the past 10 years of the Boyle Lectures and their contribution to the dialogue between Christianity and our understanding of the natural world. Free, just turn up, 6pm

BOOKS: This month's Fiction Lab, a book club discussing novels with scientific settings, runs at the Royal Institution and tonight pores over The Heart Broke In by James Meek. While you're there, check out the RI's new exhibition of artwork made from genetically modified organisms. Free, just turn up, 7pm

DOCTOR WHO: The Monarch in Camden's sci-fi pub quiz is back, and it's about time. Test your knowledge of Doctor Who and, if you don't win, simply travel back in time two hours and try again. £2, just turn up, 8pm

Wednesday 10 April

DATA MAPPING: James Cheshire of UCL's Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (basically, the academic unit that pumps out all those clever data maps of London) speaks at St Bride Foundation about his work mapping tweets, bikes, surnames and more. £15, prebook, 7pm

Thursday 11 April

HOW TO THINK: Rolf Dobelli points out how cognitive biases often lead us to make poor judgments, and offers some tips on spotting our biases and avoiding them. It's on at LSE tonight. Free, just turn up, 6.30pm

Saturday 13 April

TRANSPORT: London Transport Museum's Acton Depot is open all weekend for visitors to explore exhibits not normally on show at the main museum. You can also catch a restored underground steam engine and carriage, celebrating the network's 150th anniversary. £10, prebook or turn up, 11am-5pm
