Forced Entertainment: The Coming Storm Returns

Six performers will compete for the use of one microphone during an unusual, playful and anarchic performance as Forced Entertainment return to Battersea Arts Centre with The Coming Storm.

Ditch any expectations of a clear narrative, or of stories told from beginning to end. Here, actors will cut across each other with anecdotes, memories and inventions, mixing up the prosaic, dramatic and comic.

You may not know exactly what you're meant to be watching at times and it sounds like sort of un-focusing your eyes and going with it rather than trying to "get it" will help but be reassured that when Lyn Gardner reviewed the premiere back in the summer she said the Forced Entertainment six delivered the show with "an uncanny ability to mine meaning and structure out of chaos. I could happily watch these performers for hours".

And if you want to spend more hours with them there's a special Neon Friday on 23 November when you can watch The Coming Storm at 7.30pm and director, Tim Etchell's free-associating monologue, Sight is the Sense That Dying People Tend To Lose First at 10.15pm with readings, installations and neon cocktails inbetween.

The Coming Storm is at Battersea Arts Centre from 20 November to 1 December. Tickets £17.
