London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 19-25 February

Where to find funny next week

Sunday: It's hard to provide an accurate measure of good comedy, so we're going to describe this Just for Laughs showcase at the Pleasance (8pm, £5) as containing a "fuckton" of acts. Colin Hoult, Cariad Lloyd, Humphrey Ker (fresh from his Soho Theatre run), Late Night Gimp Fight, Sheeps, Max & Ivan, Kieran & The Joes, Jessica Ransom and MC Tim Rabnett. For a fiver.

Monday: Book now – NOW – to see sci-curious-comedy-awesomeness Festival of the Spoken Nerd at West London venue Ginglik with guests Tiffany Stevenson, Colin Wright and Alexander Allmont. The theme is games, so dig out your best Lego / Commodore 64 / Mario t-shirt (8pm, £8 / £6).

Tuesday: Monster Comedy (8.30pm, £8) is a monthly night at Leicester Square Theatre where every single penny of the proceeds go to charity. This time around they've got Allnut & Simpson, The Gentlemen Of Leisure, Ben Target, Ed Gamble, Daniel Simonsen and Max & Ivan, with Naz Osmanoglu MCing.

Wednesday: Pop into a comedy club this week and the chances are you'll see Josh Widdicombe (pictured), but for a longer stint head to the Soho Theatre. This is the show that got him nominated for Best Newcomer at Edinburgh last year (7.15pm, £10-£15).

Thursday: Over in Clapham Junction, two Toms are tonight's N20 Comedy Festival performers. Tom Adams and his whimsical songs starts at 8pm (£10 / £8), and Tom Deacon tries out his new show at 10pm (£12 / £10).

Friday: Knock2Bag is doing a new night at Rich Mix (7.30pm, £10 / £15). The Boy With Tape on His Face headlines, plus Tony Law, Celia Pacquola, Brian Gittins, Cardinal Burns, Matt Rees and Colin Hoult.

Saturday: Make your way south to Forest Hill for comedy at The Hob (9pm, £9 / £6) with acts including Tom Price (he's PC Andy from Torchwood yesyesyes, but as a stand up is much sharper and funnier than that gormless TV persona) and Mike Wozniak, who we're rather fond of:
