Exhibition Preview: Victoria 4 Albert

Just in time for Valentine's Day comes a new series of short animated films on one of the great royal love stories. No, not that one but the one between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Created and directed by Chiara Ambrosio, the five films will be released online as part of the run-up to this spring's Kensington Palace exhibition on the longest serving British monarch (Queen Elizabeth II will need to serve for over three more years to overtake Victoria). The films themselves are based on Victoria's own diaries in which she describes first meeting with Albert on the Palace's Stone Stairs as well as many aspects of her childhood.

The first film can be seen below with the rest to follow shortly. Let us know what you think in the comments.

The exhibition Victoria Revealed starts on 26 March. More information can be found here.

Does anyone know how long this exhibition will last?

For the foreseeable future... Victoria Revealed will be a permanent display, opening when the palace re-opens on 26 March 2012, telling Victoria's story through her own words. Our animated episodes - Victoria 4 Albert - however, will be released daily for the next five days from www.victoria4albert.com

Hope that helps.
