Who knows what will be the next big thing? Who, for example, would have predicted we'd be all about war horses at the minute? There's the West End play, Stephen Fry playing a gay horse on Radio 4 and, from tomorrow, the War Horse: Fact & Fiction exhibition at the National Army Museum adds costumes and props from Spielberg's latest blockbuster.
Costumes worn in the film by Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston and – brace yourselves for a phlanx of swooning ladies – Benedict Cumberbatch will be on display, alongside paper horses decorated by the cast and director. These, plus others decorated by people including author Michael Morpurgo and, er, the Duchess of Cornwall, will be auctioned off to raise funds to redevelop the Museum and for animal welfare charity, the Brooke.
The War Horse exhibition runs until 30 August and is free to get in.
Exhibition is open daily 10am-5.30pm at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea.
