What would you do if you were the mayor? What idea do you have to improve your working, family or travelling life in London?
Tweet your ideas for improving London to #Ideas4Mayor and the top ten ideas will be picked on 7 December and presented at the London Policy Conference, where 2012 election candidates Boris Johnson and Ken Livingston will be speaking, so your ideas will count. The person with the winning idea will be invited to present their idea in person.
Some of the ideas so far include micro-chipping of all cats and dogs, swimming pools in the Thames and book swap points at tube stations.
Obviously, the mayor only has powers on areas relating to London – transport, planning, policing and housing, so to be in with the best chance of pitching your idea and being a part of deciding policy for London, stick to these.
The London Policy Conference is jointly organised by Centre for London and IPPR and sponsored by the Evening Standard. It takes place on 12-13 December.
