What Happens When A Vehicle Hits A Boris Bike Docking Station?

The sorry sight above was photographed by Londonist contributor @zefrog on Wednesday on Shoreditch High Street. No sign of the culprit, but if you spot anybody driving a car with the faint imprint of a Barclays logo or the Cycle Hire roundel smeared on their front fender, you know where it comes from.

On a more serious note, the clown who clipped these bikes is probably still out there, driving around and endangering other road users, not least London's cyclists, two of whom have been killed in the past few weeks.

This was actually taken on Wednesday afternoon (26th) just after 5pm. The road at this point is very large and this is roughly the middle of the docking station. Hard to imagine how the driver could not have seen it.

The only vehicle I've seen hit a bike stand before was a Barclays Cycle Hire distribution truck...
