Transport for London Launches Roadwork Reporting Tool

TfL have rolled out a new page on their website which allows users to report dodgy or problematic roadworks in their area.

The app is simple enough to use. The user is asked to enter a postcode, street address or building name. In the next step, a map of all the roadworks in that area appears. After selecting the offensive site, the user can then file a report, describing the type of problem and uploading images images if necessary. There's also the option to browse through issues that others have reported, although at time of writing only two have so far been logged: one for an 'untidy site' near Victoria, the other a test report.

Transport will be a key battleground in next May's mayoral election, and one of  Boris Johnson's key pledges is to improve traffic flow, particularly by tackling London's roadwork problem: he's previously considered a lane rental scheme to help mitigate the disruption caused. Anything that makes it look as if he's taking the problem seriously should play well in the eyes of voters.
