One Year To Go To Olympic Opening Ceremony

LOCOG have mown a ruddy great number one into the pitch at the Olympic Stadium to mark one year to go till the Olympic Games.

Well, to the Olympic opening ceremony at least (will you be in it?). As Diamond Geezer points out, actual Olympic games begin on 25 July 2012. Whichever day you plump for, it's a milestone worthy of stamps, stunts and idle speculation.

Oh, and social media! Have a look at the Twitter Stadium. Use the Olympic hashtag #1yeartogo to tweet your support for your team.

There will be a free celebration in Trafalgar Square from 6pm, beamed live on BBC One from 7pm, with the unveiling of the 2012 medals and Tom Daley taking the first official dive into the pool at the finished Aquatic Centre.
