McDonalds are set to join John Lewis's giant shop in opening the world's biggest fast food outlet in Stratford.
The Olympic Park won't be short on golden arches either; there will be three other McDonalds on hand to sate spectators' apppetite for junk food. The irony of a fast food restaurant at a sporting event doesn't escape us, but as a sponsor of the Olympics since 1976, we would have been surprised if they hadn't leapt at the opportunity.
At least they'll be able to walk off some of those calories on their way home if fears about public transport during the Games come to pass.
