Ian Tomlinson, the man who died following a police shove at the 2009 G20 protests, was unlawfully killed. An inquest into Mr Tomlinson's death today found that the 47-year-old posed 'no threat' and was felled with 'excessive and unreasonable' force.
The inquiry apportioned no direct blame, but pressure will now mount for the prosecution of PC Simon Harwood, who struck Tomlinson with his baton before shoving him to the ground.
