Sunday Protest Over Bike Parking Charges

If you’re heading into central London tomorrow and you’re into your motorbikes, the No To Bike Parking Tax campaign group are planning a Monopoly Run as part of their ongoing protest against Westminster Council’s parking charges for motorcycles.

The demo will start at Villiers Street and take in some of the well-known London spots featured in the board game before heading off to Excel to visit the MCN Motorcycle Show.

The No To Mob joined forces with the RMT’s taxi branch recently to reveal an illegal road sign in Soho which the council had used mobile traffic cameras to wrongly fine nearly 400 motorists, eventually forcing Westminster to remove the sign and refund the tickets issued.

Leave to appeal was granted for the group back in October last year after the charges were initially upheld on the basis that the High Court’s ruling was flawed.
