Westminster Bike Parking Charges - Appeal Granted

For those of us following the ongoing contretemps between bikers and Westminster council, the right to appeal the High Court's decision earlier this year to uphold the much-hated parking charge for motorbikes in the borough has been granted. Campaign group No To The Bike Parking Tax has always maintained that the £1 charge was introduced as a profit-making exercise which is supposedly against legislation that parking schemes should be revenue-neutral. The group has repeatedly organised demonstrations against the charge and clashed with Boris Johnson in person back in June when he allegedly threatened to withdraw bus lane usage for motorbikes.
