Alexander Lebedev, owner of the Evening Standard, the Independent and the Independent on Sunday, is said to be "holding negotiations" with Russian police, after his bank in Moscow was raided this morning. Lebedev's spokesperson revealed that between twenty and thirty armed officers stormed the National Reserve Corporation bank in central Moscow this morning, attracting a clutch of journos and snappers who waited across the street for what (to judge by earlier rumours) they probably expected would be a perp walk. The spokesperson has, however, made it clear that the Russian billionaire is not under arrest.
