Tony Blair Cancels Tate Party

1208_blair.jpg Though his book is selling well, it's not turning into a great week for Tony Blair: the former PM has been forced to cancel a planned launch party at Tate Modern today. Blair said that he didn't want to cause a hassle or feel threatened by the anti-war demonstrators who had reportedly planned to picket the event; it was the same story on Monday, when he decided to cancel a book signing at Waterstone's Piccadilly. Despite these setbacks, Blair may seek another venue to gladhand with his adoring public; given the half-price discount being offered on A Journey in most stores around town, perhaps a fitting location would be at cheapo surplus bookseller The Works.
