Teddington Thames Photowalk: 19 September

TB2T_badge250.jpg The Thames Barrier to Teddington Flickrpool is taking shape. Over 100 photos are geotagged in there already but looking at the map of pictures, there's scope for many more images, especially to fill the gaps around Limehouse, Rotherhithe and the Isle of Dogs as well as the western stretch from Teddington to Fulham and Putney. To assist with the latter, reader, Flickr friend and all round good egg Laura Babb has organised a photowalk along the Thames from Teddington. In her own words:

Meet at Teddington station at 11:00am on the 19th September and we'll walk along the river, snapping as we go.

There will be a few photography enthusiasts on hand to answer any questions you might have or give advice if you need it. We're by no means experts but we are nerdy hobbyists, so we might be able to point you in the right direction.

You don't have to be an experienced photographer, or have a fancy camera, you just need to be up for looking at things a bit differently, to try to capture some interesting images.

And, the best bit? When we're tired of walking, we can stop at a pub to refuel.

RSVP Facebook.

If you can't make this walk, how about organising one yourself to cover another stretch of the river? Drop us a line to let us know or leave a note in the Flickrpool.

The exhibition at Foyles Gallery has been accepted as part of Photomonth 2010 which means lots of extra publicity and kudos to the exhibited photographers. The exhibition runs from 11-24 October and is free to visit during Foyles opening hours.

Judges include Simon Baker, Curator, Photography and International Art for Tate, Mike Seaborne, Curator of Photography at Museum of London and Brett Jefferson Stott of Shoot Experience. Save the date for the private view and party on Friday 22 October. The deadline for entering the challenge is 30 September.
