Commuters reeling from the announcement this week of a series of Tube strikes won't be best pleased to learn that even more are on the way. Around 200 workers at Alstom-Metro depots on the Jubilee and Northern lines will walk out for 24 hours from 7pm on September 5th, and again on October 2nd, November 1st, and November 27th. The staff are incensed about what they consider an "insulting" pay rise offer of 2%; Bob Crow, who saw his own salary jump 12% this year to over £90,000, criticised the company for paying out dividend to shareholders. Alstom claims that they have put contingency measures in place to minimise disruption to passengers.
