Art Preview: London Transport Posters @ MoMA New York

2807_undergroundposter.jpg For anybody in Manhattan over the next few months (or indeed any Noo Yawkers interested in transport design), the Museum of Modern Art has a new exhibition dedicated to London Underground posters. The small show has twenty posters from some of the leading Modernist designers, including László Moholy-Nagy, Abram Games, and E. McKnight Kauffer (his design Power is pictured) who defined the Tube's distinct look in the early decades of the 20th century. London residents had a chance to sample a similarly-themed show a couple of years ago at the London Transport Museum, but if your poster design yearning is yet to be sated, there's an exhibition later this year at Burgh House about the history of Hampstead tube station which includes plenty of poster designs, according to Ian Visits.
