The section of track between Hammersmith and Edgware Road shared by the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, will close for three weeks later this summer. Preparatory demolition for Crossrail at Paddington, along with platform extension work and track replacement, are to blame, though commuters sweating through Shepherd's Bush on a bus might console themselves with dreams of riding the new, seven-car, air-conditioned trains that will be introduced from next year. The closure runs from July 24th to August 16th; H&C trains will run from Edgware Rd to Whitechapel, while Circle line services will simply return to the route that they served before the controversial extension to Hammersmith.
