While the likes of AEG are counting loose change to purchase the Olympic Stadium, more modest memorabilia can now be acquired for those on an austerity budget. Yes, the Olympic shop has opened. These purveyors of fine Games merchandise since 2010 offer an 'exciting range of official London 2012 products, from stylish sportswear to must have collectables'.
The clothing range is pretty much as you'd expect - tees and tracksuits emblazoned with THAT logo. We're rather taken by this 'Union Jack bursts T-shirt', which looks like the owner strayed a little too close to the javelin practice ground.
The Collectables section has a bit more oomph to it. Especially if you like collecting pin badges - there are over 160 to choose from. We particularly recommend this one, which takes the patented Lisa Simpson sex act, and raises it ten. Or this uncharacteristically downbeat badge, which appears to show the Olympics completely rained off. Collectors of orange die-cast wheelchair basketball taxis are also catered for.
