Preview: London Burlesque Festival 2010

Catherine D'Lish2.jpg London Burlesque Festival 2010 opens tomorrow, bringing international acts to London along with the capital's finest tease talents.

Dusty Limits is one of the hosts for the antics this year, and he's joined by Ivy Paige, Kiki Kaboom and others. Whether you're a regular at the London venues or you just fancy seeing what it's all about, the burlesque festival is a great opportunity to watch of the best artists around at the moment. This year's festival is the fourth and by far the largest to date. There are themed shows, including Twisted Cabaret at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Wednesday and the International Jetsetters Ball at the Scala on Saturday.

The show is the brainchild of Mark Henderson who reinvented himself as Chaz Royal, promoter extraordinaire, and set about promoting old-school 1950s burlesque glamour for a wider audience. The festival covers various styles and presents all kinds of performers, from emerging talent to top of the bill names. The promoters say that over half of the international performers are already here, and all of the lined-up 'British Bombshells' are confirmed for the festival, so volcano be damned. Guests are encouraged to 'Dress to impress' - so if you've been wondering where to wear that steampunk outfit or corset again, here's your chance.

Check out www.londonburlesquefest.com for tickets and offers - shows are at locations all over town, some are already sold out. 20th - 25th April.
