Tributes To Rose Gray Of The River Cafe

rivercafebook.jpg Rose Gray, co founder of The River Cafe - at one point "the most talked about restaurant in London" - has died aged 71 after a long battle with cancer. As well as establishing a Hammersmith waterside foodie institution, Rose Gray helped bring healthy, seasonal Italian cookery to our kitchens with the iconic cook books she co-authored with business partner, Ruth Rogers (go on, check your bookcase, bet you've got one). Gray and Roger's restaurant is also celebrated for giving Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Jamie Oliver their launchpads to chef celebrity.

The River Cafe is closed today.
