London's Best Pub Quizzes: 15-21 February

M@ introduces the first Londonist pub quiz, a couple of years ago. Photo by Simon Rigglesworth.

Booze and facts. It's a winning combination. The good old British pub quiz is one of the most entertaining and cheap ways to spend an evening, so we thought it was high time we got round to giving them more exposure.

To kick things off, we asked our Twitter followers to nominate their favourite weekly pub quizzes. Thanks to everyone who participated. Below are the results, organised by day.

This is very much a beginning. We'll run these listings each week, but they're only as good as the suggestions behind them. So please leave a comment, or tweet #bestldnpubquiz, or email londonist - at - if you'd like to bring our attention to your favourites, be they regular evenings or one-offs with special themes. Remember to give the day and time. Happy facting.

The Gun, Docklands: nominated by @brilith

King's Head, Earl's Court: Starts 8pm. "£2 Bingo style to win, excellent prizes including free drink rounds." @gavinevans

aren't those the two guys (on the right) that do the Boogaloo movie quiz?!

shouldn't really mention it though, it's packed enough as it is

Aye, that's them. Lee-Jay and Simon. We've done their excellent film quiz on several occasions, and they helped us out for our first pub quiz a couple of years ago.

You forgot the Rough Trades pop quiz on Monday at the Lexington! defiantly one of the best pub quizzes I have been to!

Here's another - Tuesday evenings at http://www.britanniakensington...

Gay friendly one in sarf London on Wednesdays:

Great quiz night. Established for over 15 years. Never missing a Sunday, even if it means only 4 or 5 teams.
Free to enter, therefore no 'stuffy', snobbish shooshing at the first instance of a witty retort from competitors.. unlike so many other quizzes around....GREAT LAUGH!!
Free to enter with funny prizes, last week for St. Valentine's for example, the guvnor gave out slap & tickle sticks, stripping coffe mugs & red chinese lanterns which were subsequently taken into the garden & launched in the wee small hours.
Rotating quiz masters and mistresses keep it fresh and variable. See you Sunday!!

Whoooooops, new to this!!!.. the above comments (Great quiz etc) relate to The Willoughby Arms.
